Common faults we see
No heating but hot water, or hot water but no heating, usually points at a diverter valve or a motorised valve rather than the boiler itself. Pressure dropping repeatedly points at a leak, a failed expansion vessel or a passing pressure relief valve. Fault codes and lockouts can be anything from a blocked condensate in cold weather to a failed fan or ignition electrode.
We carry common parts on the van, so where the fault is a common one we can often finish on the first visit. Where a part has to be ordered we tell you what it is, what it costs and when it will arrive.
When a repair is not the right answer
Sometimes the honest answer is that a repair does not make sense. If a boiler is well past its expected life, parts are getting hard to source, and the repair is a significant fraction of a replacement, we will tell you that rather than take the repair money and leave you back in the same position next winter.
That is a conversation, not a sales pitch. If the boiler has years left in it we will say so and fix it.
