This policy explains what personal information FJA Plumbing and Heating Ltd collects when you contact us or use this website, what we do with it, and what rights you have over it. We are the data controller for that information.

What we collect

When you fill in our contact form, send us an email, use the chat widget or call us, we collect the details you give us. That is normally your name, your address or postcode, your phone number, your email address and a description of the work you need.

When you visit the site we also collect standard analytics information through Google Analytics: pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. This is used in aggregate and does not identify you personally.

Why we use it

To reply to your enquiry, quote for work, arrange and carry out that work, invoice you, and keep the records we are legally required to keep for gas work and for tax purposes.

The legal basis is either performance of a contract with you, or our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our services. Analytics is used on the basis of consent.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information. We share it only where we need to: with our customer relationship system provider, which hosts the contact form and chat widget on our behalf; with Gas Safe Register where an installation must be notified; with our accountant; and with anyone we are legally required to disclose it to.

Where a supplier processes data for us, they act on our instructions and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

How long we keep it

Records relating to work we have carried out are kept for at least six years, which is the period we are required to retain financial records. Gas safety records are kept in line with our Gas Safe obligations. Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept only as long as we need them, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it, object to how we are using it, or withdraw consent for analytics at any time.

Email us and we will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

This site uses cookies for Google Analytics and for the contact form and chat widget supplied by our customer relationship system. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking them will not stop you using the site, but the contact form and chat may not work correctly.
